In memory of Denise DiMarzo

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend, Denise DiMarzo, this past July. Our hearts are heavy  for Mr B, their daughters, families, friends, and all the people whose lives she touched. We have been blessed to know her. The things she taught us in the short time we had with her will last us a lifetime. Denise showed us all perseverance, strength, determination, grace, dignity, love, and most importantly that the life we are given is a gift and we should never take it for granted. We should approach each day with a positive attitude and live it to the fullest. Heaven gained an amazing angel. Please keep Mr Benyo and their girls in your prayers. Thank you Denise for being an incredible role model for us all. We will miss you!

In Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease or motor neuron disease (MND), nerve cells called motor neurons inexplicably die, leading to weakness and eventual paralysis of all voluntary muscles, including those used for breathing and swallowing. There is no cure, and live span after an ALS diagnosis typically is three to five years, although some people live for decades with the disease.

MDA takes a big-picture perspective across neuromuscular diseases to uncover breakthroughs that will accelerate treatments and cures.

MDA provides highly specialized care and access to promising clinical trials at MDA Care Centers across the United States and Puerto Rico.

MDA empowers ALS families with services and support in hometowns across America.

Since 1950, MDA has invested more than $354 million in ALS research and support services.

The Mission of the Muscular Dystrophy Association: MDA is leading the fight to free individuals - and the families who love them - from the harm of muscular dystrophy., ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. We use our collective strength to help to help kids and adults live longer and grow stronger by finding research breakthroughs across diseases, caring for individuals from day one and empowering families with services and support in hometowns across America.

For Strength, Independence and Life

ALS takes away the freedom to walk, to talk, to run and dance. To laugh, to hug. To eat. To breathe. MDA fights to give those freedoms back - to give people a lifetime to live unlimited.
